The 1974 Midget came in with no damage but in poor condition as it had lain off road for a while in a London garden. In addition to general attention to condition, including sills and other basic repairs, the owner wanted to achieve that elegant pre 70s look for the car. So Steve set about removing all trace of the bumpers, building up of the rear light housings and creating square rear wheel arches – like the old Sprites.
All the metalwork and engineering is carried out in-house at Severn Classics’ workshop in Worcestershire and components such as the rear light housings are built up from scratch.
To complete the look, Severn Classics fitted wire wheels, and, under the bonnet, the Triumph 1500 engine was fully serviced by Severn Classics.
